For example, his table on page 6, "Marginal Goals Per Point" shows Nashville as being a relatively unlucky team in the shootout, but his discussion in the text points them out as the 5th-luckiest team in that regard.
Like any statistical study the assumptions and caveats need to be understood (those criticisms about quality of opposition are a good point), but I always find this report an interesting read...

I haven't read the full review yet, but the Player Contribution tables are fascinating - and certainly at first glance in relation to those teams I am very close to, they seem to give a much more accurate measure of the "value" of a player to the team than standard stats such as G&A and +/-
I hope I have a slow day at work tomorrow so I can look into it further - the beauty of these stats is that they even look like work should my boss walk past :D
