Nashville Predators fantasy hockey update

For those of you participating in fantasy hockey this season, one service I intend to provide is a weekly update on the fantasy hockey prospects for the Nashville Predators. As you continue to tweak your lineup, I'll let you know who you need to dress and who you need to sit...

Star-divide

Good to Go

Jason Arnott, J.P. Dumont, Shea Weber, Ryan Suter: All of these prominent Preds are primed to start the season. They'll dominate the PP ice time, and should have every opportunity to produce offensively.

Steve Sullivan: A sore groin kept him out of most of the pre-season games, but he is expected to be ready for the opening game Saturday night in Dallas. During camp he's shown excellent timing with his linemates Dumont and Arnott, so Sully could get off to a quick start.

Caution Advised

Pekka Rinne: The guy who's been talked about all summer as Nashville's new #1 goaltender might not start the opener. Coach Barry Trotz has, so far, refused to say whether Rinne or Dan Ellis will get the nod against the Stars, and we may not know more until Saturday.

David Legwand, Martin Erat: The second line is healthy and ready to go, and these two have worked well with new winger Mike Santorelli during the pre-season. Keep an eye on this group, however, because if things don't start off well, coach Trotz isn't shy about shuffling the deck.

The Bench

Joel Ward, Colin Wilson: Both are starting the season on injured reserve, which means they'll miss at least the Dallas game. Ward has been skating of late, so he might be ready for the home opener Thursday vs. Colorado.
