Monday's news: Colin Wilson getting closer to NHL debut

As the Tennessee Titans continue to struggle on the football field, the question I asked last Sunday only becomes more relevant; will their struggles ultimately provide an opportunity for the Nashville Predators to make headway in the local sports market? That 's a storyline I suspect we'll be following over the next few months.

For now, however, let's dig into your morning news and notes as the Preds prepare for 3 games in 4 nights against conference rivals Edmonton, Dallas and Chicago. We've got a new treatment being used to help Colin Wilson get into the Predators lineup in the near future, two outstanding pieces on social media and the NHL, and another critical player on a Western Conference rival goes down to injury. All this and more after the jump...

Impotent Offensive Effort Wastes Rinne’s Stellar Goaltending - Hockey Independent
Given Mark W.'s headline, perhaps a prescription of Cialis might provide a boost to the Nashville attack. But the thought of David Legwand and Martin Erat sitting side by side in separate bathtubs is just too disturbing to contemplate.

Admirals Waiver Status - Admirals Short Shifts
Eric tries to determine which Admirals could be called up and/or sent down between Milwaukee and Nashville while having to clear waivers (and potentially getting picked up by another NHL team). If he's right, only defenseman Nolan Yonkman would be at risk.

One of the leaders of the NHLFA (NHL Fans Association) shares the results of their latest mini-poll. Unfortunately, I don't think the guys who draw up these polls realize that Gary Bettman's job isn't to win popularity contests.

Do you expect Dumont to play tonight?

No, Dumont is still out...

Earliest he would play would be Wednesday at Dallas. He has yet to participate in a practice since the incident, but did skate on his own on Sunday…
