Jason Arnott and Teemu Laasko could be heading to the Canadiens as part of a big trade that would send Sergei and Andrei Kostitsyn, Tomas Plekanec and a second-round pick to the Predators, Toutsurlehockey.com reports.

Just an opinion, but this sounds like kicking the tires for a possible deal if the Preds’ season went into the crapper while Montreal wanted to gear up for a playoff run. I can’t imagine they’d pull off a deal like this at the present time.
Also, here’s the report itself via the Google Translator:
A source close told me that Bob Gainey was about to compromise in order to obtain reinforcements for his team. According to this Gainey is in talks with the Phoenix Coyotes, Nashville Predators and New Jersey Devils.
Gainey would have an eye on the big superstar center of the Nashville Predators, Jason Arnott and the young defenseman Teemu Laakso. The Canadian was ready to give in exchange the K brothers, Tomas Plekanec and a second-round pick.
Until I hear otherwise, I wouldn’t give this any more credence than any other anonymous trade rumor you see on the internet.
More fun than a stick to the face!

Brandon Felder also pointed out on Twitter that Jason Arnott has a no trade clause, so he would have to greenlight any such deal, I just can’t see that happening right now.
Maybe, just maybe, if the Preds flounder and he has a chance to hop on board with a strong Cup run Arnott might OK a deal, but that wouldn’t happen until trade deadline time.
