Guite on Waivers
O'Reilly comes up yesterday, Franson gets the call today, something had to give...
Anaheim's Andrew Ebbett and Nashville's Ben Guite on waivers - Michael Russo (MIN beat writer)

The Nashville Predators have placed forward Ben Guite on waivers today for what one assume is the purpose of sending him to our AHL affiliate, the Milwaukee Admirals.
Guite has been an NHL regular recently and was brought in to provide depth for the organization in the bottom-six after the exodus of Scott Nichol, Radek Bonk, and Vernon Fiddler this past summer, but hasn't shown any offensive ability and has struggled in the faceoff circle this season where he was probably expected to help the most.
If Marcel Goc was scratched Wednesday night in Dallas for being "generic" as Trotz described, the question has to be asked, "What did Guite do to separate himself from the bunch???"
Obviously, not enough...
As for Ebbett, he would have been a very tempting possibility to add to our roster prior to the recall of Cal O'Reilly. With O'Reilly having to clear waivers again to be sent down, I'm not sure that there's a spot in the lineup for Ebbett - who could be this season's "Rich Peverley" addition...

Guite Re-assigned to Milwaukee (AHL)
Not a huge surprise, but word came this morning that Ben Guite has cleared waivers and has been re-assigned to Milwaukee (AHL). Like the Predators, Milwaukee is on the road right now and Guite will join them out in British Columbia.
Coach Trotz gave a short answer to the reasoning behind Guite’s demotion, “we’re just trying to work out our numbers.” Despite hopes of Guite replacing a guy like Nichol or Fiddler this season, he has been surpassed by another free agent signed this summer Marcel Goc.
Like I said yesterday, if Goc was benched earlier this week at Dallas for being “generic”, Guite certainly didn’t do anything to stand out in his opportunity that night either…

I just wonder what Ebbett will do to us with the Blackhawks next week…
More fun than a stick to the face!
On the Forecheck is SB Nation's blog covering the Nashville Predators.
Only one way to find out...
It’ll be interesting to see how he’s used there. Hawks are pretty solid up the middle, but I suspect Bolland and Madden might be moved down to the third and fourth lines respectively to create a situation where Ebbett can utilize his offensive abilities and speed with Kane and Byfuglien…
