It appears that the new Sommet Center arena lease is paying off for both the Nashville Predators and the city (hat tip to @stackiii):
"This last year alone, we produced $4.7 million in new money — inside the building — of brand-new dollars for Metro," Freeman said. "It’s good for us and it’s good for Metro. In a year where the economy struggled, in a year where the hockey team was struggling to stay flat, the arena was breaking records.

Hmm...waiting for the Tennessean to step up...
One little thing to note though is that the City Paper is in part owned by members of the Predators ownership group. However, it is refreshing to see an article with facts – some positive, some negative that allow a reader to think – rather than the storyline driven agenda that we see from our town’s only daily printed paper…
