Nashville Predators assign Peter Olvecky and Andreas Thuresson to Milwaukee

From the Nashville Predators:

Following tonight's 4-2 win over the Dallas Stars, Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced that the club has reassigned forwards Peter Olvecky and Andreas Thuresson to Milwaukee (AHL).

Thuresson made his NHL debut on Saturday night, playing 8:48 and dishing out three hits, which tied a game high. Olvecky played his first game as a Predator in the victory, logging 7:53 of ice time.

With the Preds' next game not until Thursday, it would appear that the likely return of Martin Erat and perhaps Jason Arnott to the lineup avoids the need to have both Olvecky and Thuresson with the team right now.

Who knows… he’s skated in practice recently, but not yet at top speed. The interesting question will be when he’s ready, if there’s any role for him beyond 4th-line duty.

More fun than a stick to the face!
