Tuesday notes: Good times in Smashville as the Predators sweep a 5-game home stand

After seeing the Predators wrap up a perfect 5-0 home stand last night against Detroit, the mood in Nashville is understandably bright these days. For reaction to last night's win, you can start your morning touring Preds On The Glass, Pull My (Fang) Finger, See Puck City, What the Puck, and the blogs of Paul McCann and Brandon Felder.

Good times, indeed.

After the jump, however, we've got the rest of your morning news & notes, including some reasons behind Nashville's recent success, a new 3rd jersey debuted by the Florida Panthers, and one of the Preds' division rivals getting lit up on the road...

Postgame ponderings - Inside Predators
John Glennon likes the Erat-Goc-Tootoo line, but not so much the Thuresson-Santorelli-Hornqvist one. I haven't been particularly impressed with Santorelli either, but last night that line actually did a great job in limited action.

Iginla stapled to bench during shootout -- huh? - Flames Insider

I say "Fail", because the new Florida Panthers jerseys don't remind me of the team at all; it's such a radical departure from their normal ones, they just look generic.

Overtime - Behind The Net
Hawerchuk points out how the NHL provides incentives for bad teams to hold on in OT and try to reach the shootout.
