Jordin Tootoo dominates Kenndal McArdle in 2nd fight of the night

In case you didn't catch it earlier, here's the video (from HockeyFights.com) from tonight's 4-1 victory of that second fight between Nashville Predator Jordin Tootoo and Kenndal McArdle of the Florida Panthers. You'll have to forgive the homer announcers from Florida calling it a dirty play by Tootoo, McArdle pretty much begged and pleaded for this fight and then got much more than he could handle:

What do you think, did Toots cross any boundaries here? The guys were standing toe to toe when the first blows got thrown, so I don't see it...

Added note: this fight pushed Tootoo ahead of Scott Hartnell as Nashville's all-time penalty minutes leader, with 548.

Why do rookies continue...

…to think they can take Tootoo? Sestito did the same thing and damned near got himself killed.

I guess McArdle wanted to prove that getting beat down twice in one game was, indeed, in his plan to get noticed.

The only thing dirty in this was the announcer's nose...

If you ask for a fight, be prepared.

Christie kicks it high and short...Gonna be fielded by Lorenzo Neal at the 25...He dishes it back to Wycheck...He throws it across the field to Dyson...

McArdle was begging for it but Toots didn’t want to go. McArdle wouldn’t let go of him so Tootoo sent him to the dressing room for the rest of the night.

Exactly

During the time the camera cut back to the action, McArdle wouldn’t release his grip on Toots’s left sleeve so Toots took care of the problem. McArdle should have received an instigator penalty and, with his two minutes for fighting, sat down for a full seven. As it was, Toots took him out for the night. McArdle got more than he asked for.

yeah, I don't see it

Tootoo pushed off before his first punch, they were on level ground at that point. I mean, he wanted the fight, the guy turned around and faced you. What do you think he’s going to do, wait?

Talk about biased!

Person A keeps antagonizing person B for a fight. Person B doesn’t want to. Person A relents until person B turns to square off. Person B throws the first punch and the announcers call it a cheap shot?

The Florida announcers are idiots.

If the announcer had been on our side, I doubt he’d see it the same way.
