NHL Fanhouse weekly podcast: Hockey in the Music City
Bruce Ciskie, who hosts AOL's NHL Fanhouse podcast, asked me to sit in with him this week to talk about how the Nashville Predators are doing both on and off the ice.

i thought for sure
at the end you were going to say we finish 8th at best, but probably just out of the playoff mix. i wonder if you shocked the host guy as well.
it has to seem odd, and maybe ominous, to the rest of the hockey world that we didn’t compete to sign Zanon when he was fairly cheap and most everyone in our organization loved his game. if they knew what we know they’d know.
The big key in my mind with this team is health; if they can keep the current lineup in place they should be very competitive over the long haul. It’s when an Arnott or Dumont goes down for a length of time that they run into trouble.
Besides, I think the West overall is a little down this year. Dallas is a bit of a mirage given all the loser points they’ve been racking up, Detroit’s injury situation keeps getting worse, not better, and I still think Colorado has a long way to fall. We might see 1 or 2 less teams in the thick of the playoff chase in March than we did last season.
More fun than a stick to the face!
