Checking in from press row tonight

Let’s have a good one!

More fun than a stick to the face!

I'm sitting in class...

…scoreboard update only.

Who got hurt?

by rusherman on Dec 15, 2009 8:13 PM EST reply actions

Sulzer dinged his shoulder and went down for a bit, but he’s back out there again.

Sulzer

Said he tried to check a Tampa player

Nice goal by the shutdown line!

Ward puts the shot on net, Legwand carries the rebound around, and Smithson stuffs home the loose puck!

Keep the updates coming...

…I hate that I can’t even listen to the game. Killing me.

by rusherman on Dec 15, 2009 8:20 PM EST up reply actions

The radio is a little delayed. Your post came up about 30 seconds before I heard it. Nice to know whats coming.

Thats 5 goals for Smithers and zero assists. I find it hard to believe that he hasn’t notched an assist yet this year.

by jerseypredsfan on Dec 15, 2009 8:23 PM EST up reply actions

Grr...

Stamkos is just too fast. He got wide on Weber and blew by him, slipping one 5-hole through Rinne.

Dang

Stamkos wit the tying goal

by jerseypredsfan on Dec 15, 2009 8:28 PM EST reply actions

Are they pushing us back that much?

It seems like a lot of time is being spent on the wrong side of the ice (based on nhl.com’s scoreboard feed).

by rusherman on Dec 15, 2009 8:31 PM EST reply actions

Bad penalty by Smithson

He was pissed at getting roughed up by one of the Tampa D, but you can’t just retaliate with a cross-check like that. Power play coming up for the Lightning…

Uh oh...

5-on-3 coming up, Suter with an inadvertent high-stick…

by Dirk Hoag on Dec 15, 2009 8:38 PM EST reply actions

That hurt

They score just after Smithson’s penalty expired, 2-1 Tampa but at least we’re back at even strength.

Tnx 4 the updates. Cmon guys play smart.

by bandman on Dec 15, 2009 8:39 PM EST via mobile reply actions

Are you kidding me?!?

TB isn’t Columbus. They’re far more dangerous. We need to find the discipline that we’ve had up to this point.

by rusherman on Dec 15, 2009 8:39 PM EST reply actions

Both were bad penalties

Smithson’s was an angry retaliation, Suter’s a careless high-stick. Can’t make mistakes like that.

by Dirk Hoag on Dec 15, 2009 8:40 PM EST up reply actions

Smithson leads the team in PIM, but is 100+ behind TB’s leader…testament to our discipline, I guess.

Trotz needs to ice Belak early and let him beat the stuffing out of Zenon K-whatever.

Bring it home, boys.

by Chris Burton on Dec 15, 2009 8:55 PM EST reply actions

Hopefully...

…we’ll come out and be “cleanly aggressive”.

I want this win. I mean, I want all of them, but I love to win against the East.

by rusherman on Dec 15, 2009 9:00 PM EST reply actions

and I want the tie for the division lead

Legwand!

Leave it to the shutdown line to handle the scoring…

Spaling!

Great drive to the net by Spaling, gets the goalie down and Jones stuffs home the rebound…

3 game goal-scoring streak for Jones!

Here we go...

…make it count, gentlemen.

Hornqvist!

Picks up a loose puck after the faceoff, bangs it home from between the circles! 4-2!

Mike Smith came in after Hornqvist’s goal, then Dumont scored on him just seconds later. The arena’s rockin’ tonight!

Hot dog!

I couldn’t leave the radio to come post! Frosties in the 2nd period! Trotzy needs to save that intermission speech and use it again!

Pete Weber got giddy during the fight. Must’ve been good.

LOVE the young guys pitching in, Spaling, Horny, Jonesy….

Central division lead anybody?

Oh, to be in the stands tonight

I can only imagine the noise and atmosphere.

And here I sit watching Human Resources videos. Well, sort of watching.

by rusherman on Dec 15, 2009 9:37 PM EST reply actions

Klein fights Veilleux

Pounds on him pretty well, they danced right off the faceoff. What an ugly night for Tampa.

A goal for Spaling and Belak destroying ZK would make me a very, very happy man. As it stands, I’m giddy.

Rusherman’s right—nights like this make me mad I can’t afford tix.

These ain’t last years Preds, are they?

by Chris Burton on Dec 15, 2009 9:52 PM EST reply actions

Also, I have to say I like seeing the fire in the guys (read: fights). Thats been missing.

by Chris Burton on Dec 15, 2009 9:55 PM EST reply actions

I want Belak...

Not only does he need to stomp someone, but our regulars should not be fighting like this. The last thing we need is a Weber getting hurt while Belak sits on the bench.

Not sure why they called it roughing, Smithson instigated a fight with Malone after getting hit hard along the boards.

Isn't it ironic

that the Lightning decided to switch it up and dress all eight of their defensemen?

This game

can move us from 21st to 13th in total offense.

I don't know if I should be worried.

The period is winding down but seems like Tampa is really controlling the play. Time to buckle down and play responsibly.

Too close for comfort.

Glad the 2nd period was so good or we’d have been hosed.
