Tuesday's notes: Colin Wilson gets in his first fight as Movember draws to a close

Remember that today marks the end of the Preds' Movember campaign to raise money for prostate cancer awareness. At tonight's game you can buy a $2 Movember mustache of your own, and in the meantime, check out the updated pics of the players' mustaches, and consider making a donation (I put $10 on J.P. Dumont's, by the way). Since the Preds starting growing the facial hair on November 15, the team has gone 10-3-2. Should Barry Trotz hide their razors?

After the jump, we've got your morning news & notes, which includes Olympic roster decisions, another Red Wing hobbled by injury, and word that Preds prospect Colin Wilson had the first fight of his professional hockey career last night...

Lots of musing over Colorado's attendance troubles. Personally, I think early-season attendance could be down because with the OTL loser point the standings are kept artificially close, and playoff position isn't really on the line until March.

10 Annoying People Article

That was a good piece…I particulary agreed with his comments on young couples with infants…“there’s one thing that SHOULDN’T annoy you: – The young couple that brings an infant to a game. I have a few friends that flip-out when they find out that a little infant or kid is going to be around. The language has to be put in check and the chances for a crying kid go up exponentially. BUT, I love when I see that people care enough for the team that they bring the kid to the game. You know it’s a pain in the ass and THEY want the kid to be quiet even more than you do. Besides, I’m a big believer in START ‘EM WHILE THEY’RE YOUNG”

I also found it very timely since my wife and I will be bringing our 14 month old to tonights game vs. Tampa Bay. This will be his 3rd game. We took him when he was about 4 months old and he didn’t really enjoy it…too loud especially after goals. Now we tried again last month and the little guy loved it…the noise didnt bother him one bit, he clapped with the fans, gave high 5s and loved the action…the only problem was he faded fast after the 1st period and the intermission bored the heck out of him.

so if anyone has any tips on getting a 14 month old thru a game let me know. my hope is to get him thru 2 periods tonight and work toward a complete game.

Have you tried cotton in the ears for dealing with the noise?

We would have brought our kids at that age, but we had twins, then another little guy just over a year later. Being outnumbered doesn’t work…

good tip

the noise wasn’t much of an issue last time. he’s a pretty laid back kid. we’ll have two of us to one kid. that’ll help

Glad you guys liked it…. I know that it was a 10 people that annoy me article, but I figured the kids thing had to be said. If someone shows up to a game and brings their kids, that’s someone that REALLY wants to be there. Nothing but respect.

Twins Dirk? God bless you… and mercy on your soul. ;-)
