That ain’t the plan, boys.

Grr...

Nifty goal by Nilsson, the guy’s got speed and seems slippery to boot.

Oh man

the goal was scored on Klein. That never happens. I’M SHOCKED.

What?!?!?!

seriously…what is going on?

by TigerPredsChick on Dec 17, 2009 9:47 PM EST reply actions

I don’t blame Klein so much for the first goal, but the second… yikes!

Ouch!

Gotta settle things down… Klein’s gotta bang that puck out of the way instead of playing it with his feet.

Klein

Is this the same Klein that kept the puck out of the net the other night FOR Peks?

by TigerPredsChick on Dec 17, 2009 9:49 PM EST reply actions

Things starting to look better

Good shift by the first line. Seems to be a little more energy.

by jerseypredsfan on Dec 17, 2009 9:57 PM EST reply actions

Seems like all the lines are getting good pressure now. The Legwand line had a good chance, Dumont just set up a couple decent shots…

It’s early, but you can’t like the hole they dug themselves.

I love Horn dog…… He is always banging away at it.

I can’t remember a team with so many key players injured. Worse even than what the Preds dealt with last spring.

4 straight games with a goal?

He just needed Wade “Playmaker” Belak on the wing with him…

Belak

Well, Dirk and all those who have asked questions about Belak have “Wade’s World” to look forward to, it appears, during the intermission.

by BamaMuaddib on Dec 17, 2009 10:13 PM EST reply actions

Very, very strange game. Belak on the scoresheet, a comeback, goalie pulled in five minutes…

I’ll take the comeback, though. A fight and a goal, and Wade has the GHT! :P

Holy cow what a period…

Wow

I must admit, I was ready to turn it off. I couldn’t stand to watch us self-destruct against Edmonton again. I guess you could say we did NOT self-destruct.

Tonight is definitely a night to email or IM your friends, and tell them to turn the Preds game on. Nashville needs to get behind this team.

a way to build the fan base

When I had never been to a hockey game, I looked down my nose at it (could hardly believe that my sister and her boyfriend would go to a HOCKEY game after my wedding in St. Louis). My late husband sometimes hosted the box for the company he worked for, and once our entire family went, we were HOOKED (had a good time even though we had no idea what was going on, on the ice at that point). The kids liked the noise and flames shooting up from the old Jumbotron, and the energy of the game.

I sometimes wonder how many people would get hooked on hockey like my family is if season ticket holders were sometimes given a pair of tickets to give to a friend who has never gone to a game, who they think might enjoy it.

by LuvthePreds on Dec 17, 2009 10:44 PM EST reply actions

I think I’ve heard something about some season ticket holders receiving some comp tickets in the mail this week.

Also, the Preds have the Ambassador Club, which encourages season ticket holders to help sell tickets by offering discounts. You’re right, getting 1st timers into the rink is the best way to build the fan base.

especially when said first-timers...

have a son. Boys love hockey.

WOO-HOO! Remember earlier this season when the Preds couldn’t buy a goal?

by LuvthePreds on Dec 17, 2009 10:48 PM EST up reply actions

Great idea. Hockey is the best game to see in person. You really get a feel for how fast and powerful these guys are. It be a win win for all involved. Season ticket holders get a bonus for supporting the team while the team hooks a few new fans.

by jerseypredsfan on Dec 17, 2009 10:52 PM EST up reply actions

partial season ticket holders also get bonus tickets

which you can actually exchange for the seats next to you on a game when you already have tickets. That’s another way to bring in some newbies.

Trotz

If the Preds can keep playing well, is this finally the year Barry gets some credit from the media and pundits?

Respect for anyone in Nashville?

I wouldn’t hold my breath

"Get to the Choppa!"

by PredHead on Dec 17, 2009 11:28 PM EST up reply actions

I think he gets alot of credit for what he has done. Maybe not Jack Adams award credit but he is spoken of highly by the media. I think what doesn’t get the credit is the players on the ice. Always overachievers they say. Well how many years do you have to overachieve before it becomes expected of you?

Crap

Horny is hurt

If I hit a hole-in-one on this grand slam the dominoes will fall like a house of cards. Checkmate.

Doesn’t seem serious, Pete said he is standing at the bench…just a stinger, maybe?

2 fingers

Preds fans need to start ushering in the second period with this gesture…what a crazy couple of nights with big 2nd period scoring

by BamaMuaddib on Dec 18, 2009 12:03 AM EST reply actions

Man. What a game. 18 goals in 3 games with (IIRC) no empty netters.

Glad to see Smithson get one after it being waved off. Can’t believe Horny has double digit goals. Guess we won’t see him scratched again.

Now, to exact revenge on the other Canadian team that blew us out this season—bring on the Flames.

by Chris Burton on Dec 18, 2009 12:11 AM EST reply actions

Guess who has a positive goal differential...

the Nashville frickin Predators, that’s who

"Get to the Choppa!"

by PredHead on Dec 18, 2009 12:15 AM EST reply actions

I worry when the NHL can't even get it right...

I didn’t know that Edmonton changed its hockey club’s name to the flames….

And this is an exact quote from NHL.com:

Edmonton started strong, striking first on the power play 3 minutes when Nilsson chipped a shot off of the goalie Pekka Rinne’s arm.

The Flames scored again 2 minutes later when Gilbert Brule’s shot was accidentally kicked by Nashville’s Kevin Klein right to the pinching Visnovsky for his eighth goal of the season. It was just the fourth Edmonton shot on net and enough to chase Rinne just 5:01 into the game, with Dan Ellis replacing him in net.
