Silly West-Coastians...

Don’t they know that this game should have started at a proper, Southern time? I mean, come on, most of us natives are already inebriated by 9:30 p.m.

Glad to see San Jose taking it to the Hawks, though…never thought I’d root for San Jose.

Lets get it on. Win this and then bring it home for a rowdy crowd on Saturday.

by Chris Burton on Dec 22, 2009 9:48 PM EST reply actions

Smashville, do you have all those headers in a zip file like last year? I’m making the message board GDTs again and those were the stuff. No worries if not, they just look nicer than the NHL.com logos.

Actually,

I’ve been doing them game by game this year.

Cool. I imagine its easier that way anyhow.

Good work, btw.

Thanks,

What’s up with the Preds boards? It’s hardly as active as it was last year. I prefer the game threads over here anyway with the live updating

during the offseason

they went through an overhaul that really, really sucks. Horrible interface and really slow software. Its chased almost everyone off. They may be changing it back soon, but permanent damage may have been done.

At times last year we had 50-60 page GDTs. A couple this year haven’t gone over 1.

I prefer this format as well. Much easier to shoot a one line “GOAL!”.

Alex Edler playing tonight, per Nucks Misconduct.

6-4 Preds (Hornqvist, Sully 2x, Jones, Arnott, Ward)

I wish.

Don’t see the goals staying like this. Think we see a letdown tonight. But, nobody asks me, and thats why they play the game.

Lets do this.

42-13 SOG

In the Hawks-Sharks game. It’s amazing that San Jose is winning with almost 30 fewer shots.

Trotzy wants a lot of emotion and fire tonight, and praised the resiliency in EDM/CAL, per radio interview.

Good to get out alive, but I think Trotz needs to bring back that speech from the EDM timeout on Thursday. Gotta hustle in the 2nd.

by Chris Burton on Dec 22, 2009 11:09 PM EST reply actions

Yeah, we were definitely out-played, but it seems like we’re playing more solid hockey where the Canucks are just throwing stuff at the net…sort of a role reversal.

by rusherman on Dec 22, 2009 11:12 PM EST up reply actions

It's actually a little encouraging

that we were about to keep it 0 – 0 with a terrible period like that.

I went back and caught the replay of Smithson getting hurt, it looks like a shot got him on the left wrist/forearm area. That’s key for a right-handed shot, hopefully it’s not broken.

Triston Grant.

Is who I want up if Smity has a broken arm/wrist. Not to be negative or anything, just gotta think he’s a better PKer than O’Reilly/Santo.

by Chris Burton on Dec 22, 2009 11:19 PM EST up reply actions

I wonder how much we’ll see Spaling in that role tonight… his speed is a real asset.

I’m just not a big fan of Grant at the NHL level. He’s a hard worker, to be sure, but I just don’t see enough talent there to help.

My point precisely.

This is a hard working team with a bit of a talent deficit, no?

by Chris Burton on Dec 22, 2009 11:25 PM EST up reply actions

We actually had some scoring chances

despite not having ANY sustained offense. If we could just convert one early in the 2nd, that could really frustrate them.

Is it ok for me to <3 Shea Weber?

The puck doesn’t seem to be bouncy, so I don’t know why the Preds are taking so long with their shots. Not gonna be able to beat Luongo when he sees the shot coming the whole time.
