Christmas News/Notes: Radulov makes Russian roster, another Pred makes decade list
Merry Christmas, everyone! Hope all of the faithful readers at OTF are enjoying their holiday, and gearing up for a huge set of games this weekend. Thought I'd provide you a bit of holiday reading as you let breakfast settle, or escape from all those toy instruction manuals. After the jump, Russia has named their Olympic roster, Steve Sullivan's Masterton makes an all-decade list, and more.
Russia named their Olympic roster last night, including Nashville Predator Alexander Radulov.
Boy is that going to be one heck of an offense. Kovalchuk, Ovechkin, Semin, Datsyuk, Malkin...that's a gold-medal winning offense, in my opinion. If the defense was stronger, I'd call them a lock. However, Shea Weber (hopefully) and Canada may have something to say about that.
John Glennon reports on how the Predators' offense is surprising the rest of the NHL.
A couple of NHL broadcasters give praise to Barry Trotz, including the Blue Jackets' play-by-play man.
Steve Sullivan is Puck Daddy's 9th best feel-good story of the decade.
Good selection here. I, for one, wasn't expecting to ever see Sullivan on the ice again, at least as a Predator. Great moment in Predators' history. (Also a 4-1 win over the Blackhawks, his former team)
Sports Illustrated names 10 players to watch at the upcoming World Juniors.
Several Americans make the list, including On The Forecheck's mock draft choice for the Predators (real pick was Ryan Ellis) Jordan Schroeder.
Preds on the Glass provides a Predators themed version of "The Night before Christmas".
Interesting take, for sure.
Rachel at What the Puck also takes a crack at revising the well known poem.
Includes the line "Down the tunnel Coach Trotz came with a bound.". Thats an pretty funny mental image, right there...
Preds 101 breaks down Patric Hornqvist's shutout-preventing goal against Vancouver.
Hard to believe Hornqvist has hit double digit goals already. Really pushing for a spot on Team Sweden?
Finally, in case you missed it yesterday, Jerred Smithson has a broken left hand.
Not good for an already poor penalty kill unit, and will definitely make things harder in shutting down the Toews line this weekend.

Any tips on how to get those sweet game pics that you use for the Previews and Notes, or is that an admin only thing?

Yeah, you have to be at least an Author, I believe, to get access to the AP imagery. I do want to take a look at opening up a couple spots for folks to contribute in that way, so if you’re interested drop me a note at the.forechecker@gmail.com.
