Monday's news: Were the Nashville Predators naughty this year?

Back-to-back losses over the weekend to Chicago have me wondering which list Santa had the Nashville Predators on this Christmas.

As for me, Santa definitely treated me right; the big gift I got this year was an XM XpressRCi satellite radio (affiliate link), so I can finally catch hockey talk pretty much all the time. Word has it that I got this just in time to hear a certain Nashville hockey blogger's appearance on NHL Home Ice, but we'll have more on that when it breaks.

After the jump... well, you know the drill!

Run this one through the Google Translater (Swedish to English) and you'll see that Mikael Samuelsson wasn't too happy about getting left off the Olympic team in favor of Hornqvist. There are quotes in there you certainly won't see in a North American news outlet.

Remember, right after the Olympic break comes the trade deadline. How do you feel about the Preds? Personally, I think they could use a PP QB (unlikely) and a playmaking center, but I'm guessing that unless a can't miss opportunity comes up, we might see Nashville stand pat.

Message Sending Time? (Puck-rakers)
Can the Blue Jackets pull out of their tailspin? Calling up the odd minor leaguer isn't likely to get it done, and the Columbus GM is supposedly "talking to several clubs about making a deal to help lift the club from its worst stretch in franchise history.."

Lastly, your video of the day is a fluky goal scored by Mason Raymond of the Vancouver Canucks (hat tip to Kukla's Korner):
