Third week of March power rankings/ Weekly wallpaper
Here is where the hockey world thinks our Preds should be ranked this week, and there's a Greg Zanon wallpaper at the end for the weekly wallpaper.
Feel free to comment on the rankings, or make any requests for next week's wallpaper.
NOTE: This post is a few days late as I was out of town, so the stats that are featured here are from around Monday or Tuesday.
ESPN.com
#18
We're staying put at 18 in ESPN's rankings.
"More for the Pekka Rinne/Calder Trophy debate: The goalie is 12-3-1 since Feb. 1."
FOXSPORTS.com
#19
Fox Sports kept us at 19 for the third straight week.
"The Nashville goalies kept the Preds in the playoff mix last week. Dan Ellis started off Week 23 by picking up one crucial point for his team in a 2-1 OT loss to the Caps where he was called upon to make 42 saves. Pekka Rinne closed out the week with a perfect performance in a 2-0 win over the Coyotes."
TSN.ca
#19
TSN's rankings bump us down 5 to #19.
"Losing three of four, to go with the No. 1 centre being sidelined, knocks the Preds down, but they are still in that playoff mix, tied for the last spot in the West."
Sportsnet.ca
#17
Sportsnet keeps us at #17, and continues to talk about Pekka Rinne.
" Rookie goalie Pekka Rinne has seven shutouts, so why is everybody conceding the rookie of the year award to Steve Mason?"
CBSSPORTS.COM
#18
More about Rinne with CBS, who drops us 3 spots to #18.
"Pekka Rinne is back and that's a good thing for the Preds. Rinne got over the flu and snapped a two-game Nashville losing streak with a shutout."
The Hockey News
#14
Even before Ryan Suter's showing last night, The Hockey News gave him some love, but the team is down five in the ranks to #14
"All the talk early on was about Shea Weber, but Ryan Suter could well end up the Preds' highest-scoring defenseman this year"
Sporting News
#18
In Craig Cunstance's ranks, we stay at 18
"Nashville limited Phoenix to just 18 shots four nights after surrendering 44 against the Capitals."

Interesting how most of those are tightly bunched together, but the Hockey News has them at #14. I wonder if Barry Trotz’s nephew works there or something.
More fun than a stick to the face!
On the Forecheck is SB Nation's blog covering the Nashville Predators.
I've actually noticed that throughout the season
THN really likes us for some reason. Even through the middle of the season where we were lurking at the bottom of the standings, they rarely had us lower than #20
