Who gets your boos?
The Blackhawks and Flames didn't do the Predators any favors last night, dropping home games to Edmonton and St. Louis respectively and tightening the playoff chase in the West. Tonight, there's surprisingly little relevant action on the scoreboard:
Dallas @ San Jose, 3 p.m. Central: As repugnant as it is to pull for the Sharks, we don't need the Stars to make up ground here.
Columbus @ Florida, 6 p.m. Central: The Blue Jackets appear headed for their first-ever playoff berth, but it's not sewn up yet, and the Preds would like to make a stab at the highest playoff seed possible.
Here's snapshot of the standings headed into tonight's action...
Lastly, I thought I'd open the following question for discussion; which of the playoff contenders do you NOT want to make the postseason? We've still got seven teams fighting over three spots... is it traditional division rivals like Columbus or St. Louis? Craig Leipold's new team, the Wild? The Goons-R-Us squad in Anaheim? Let's hear what you think...

Columbus
simply because Pekka Rinne has a higher chance of winning the Calder if Steve Mason doesn’t make it to the playoffs and the Preds do.
But on the other hand, can you imagine if the whole Central division makes the playoffs?

Minny
I hate Craig Leipold and what he did to the Predators during the “firesale i can’t afford the team…oh…actually i’m gonna buy your competition in the SAME SEASON and spend a ton of money on them that i just said i didnt have”
Columbus is a good divisional rival but that market needs the help and deserves to taste the playoffs. I’d actually love to see a Preds/BJ’s playoff series. You think they’re “rivals” now… Ask Colorado and Detroit what a few playoff series will do to your love for one another.

I voted Minnesota too, although perhaps the most poetic justice would be to see the Wild re-sign Gaborik for an Alexei Yashin-type contract, then have him sit out with a hangnail for the entire 2009-10 season…

Gotta admit I love this feature. Very useful in the stretch run. I personally would like to see the Blues snatch a playoff spot. till a big Chris Mason fan. Plus wouldnt it be crazy if the Central sends Detriot, Chicago, Columbus, Nashville and St. Louis??? It could happen

Can the Panthers hold on? Up 1-0 with just a few minutes left… That would be great to have both DAL and CBJ lose this evening.

Crap-a-roony
2-1 Blue Jackets with under 2 minutes remaining… where’d the Panthers get such a sieve of a goalie, anyway?
