Predators Update, March 25 2009

As the Western Conference playoff race tightens even further, here's a recap of what's being said about our Preds this morning:

Prior to Saturday's game against L.A., the Predators are going to host a box-office-only presale of playoff tickets, starting at 3:00 p.m.

Wayne Gretzky admits that the Phoenix Coyotes' financial difficulties have affected his locker room. Nashville made no such excuses in a hard-fought drive to defy the odds and make the playoffs last season.

In Dallas, the wailing and gnashing of teeth is underway after the Stars lost last night.

Check out the Preds on the Glass podcast from yesterday, with Mark Willoughby from The View from 111. Mark travelled along with the Preds on the recent West Coast trip, and shares his experience in a treat of an interview.

The San Jose Mercury News provides further background on the relationship between Scott Cacchione and Boots Del Biaggio. Cacchione was charged by the SEC yesterday for helping Del Biaggio defraud lenders to acquire his stake in the Preds.

Of course, when you dig around for news stories about the Nashville Predators, sometimes you come up with non-hockey stuff like this - ex-cons who end up driving ice cream trucks around family neighborhoods. Yeeesh...

In another non-hockey piece, Scott Hamilton, who won the gold in the 1984 Olympics for figure skating and lives in the Nashville area, is making a comeback of sorts after a number of health concerns. His inspiration for working his way back for occasional exhibitions? Steve Sullivan's remarkable comeback this year from back injuries.
