NHL Trade Deadline Open Thread

PrintI thought I'd open a thread here for discussion throughout the day; if a particular transaction comes up relative to the Preds or one of the teams bumping alongside them for playoff positioning, that'll get it's own piece, but feel free to discuss other trades in the comments below.

Two names off the list
It looks like Tim Connolly in Buffalo and Filip Kuba in Ottawa have signed contract extensions, they would have been interesting guys to have been moved.

Just remember that trades will still be announced for a few hours after the actual 2 p.m. Central deadline, as the NHL works through the process of validating and completing the deals. I’m getting anxious, though!

Bill Guerin goes to Pittsburgh, as a top-name guy I wouldn’t expect Poile to be in the bidding for him, but the list of candidates is getting thinner and thinner…
