An outsider's assessment of the Nashville hockey scene, Part 1
James Mirtle (dean of the SB Nation hockey circle, and proprietor of From the Rink) has begun posting his recap of his visit to Nashville to catch a couple Predators games in late February.
You can find Part 1 over at From the Rink, and it's well worth a read for Preds fans, or anyone else who's interested in how hockey is doing south of the Mason/Dixon line:
It's a hockey locale unlike any other, and a pretty surreal experience for someone who grew up typically Canadian, playing shinny on the pond and watching junior hockey at the local rink.
Me, I loved it. And I can see why so many NHLers enjoy playing in Nashville.

Great Read
I enjoyed reading James’s reaction to the atmosphere here in TN. I do believe many of the players enjoy playing in this area. Maybe he can help the general canadian population understand that the dedication and support fans give this team is one that cannot be denied. The adversities that this organization have faced are too numerous to ponder, considering it is such a young team. Now the team will face the economics, like many others, but I hope to see the continued reselicency of this young team. The team is in good shape as far as the salary cap and many of the draftees have been highly regarded.
