Join us at Nashville's NHL Tweetup!

Sure, the Preds may not have qualified for the Stanley Cup Playoffs this season, but that won't stop Nashville's hockey fans from meeting up Wednesday night (from 5-9 p.m.) to celebrate the opening night of the NHL's post-season.

Dubbed the "NHL Tweetup", it all started with a gathering organized via Twitter for the NHL's store in New York City, but now Tweetups have been set up in many other cities as well. Locally, the effort has been headed up by @stackiii, @amypredsfan, and @mollypearson. I'd encourage all Preds fans, whether you're a Twitter user or not, to join us at:

The Closing Bell

1524 Demonbreun (Google Map), (615)-255-6004

The Closing Bell is a non-smoking environment (except on an outdoor patio) with an affordable menu, and they have set aside their 21-and-over policy for this event. I'll bring the 3 Little Forecheckers (ages 7, 7, and 6), so it should definitely be a family-friendly time. There will also be giveaways, courtesy of both the Nashville Predators and the NHL, including one lucky winner who will receive a free subscription to NHL GameCenter Live for next season.

Be sure to RSVP via the Twitter invite, or if you're a Facebook user, there's an event page set up as well, so use that to let us know you're coming, and feel free to invite others.

So far we're looking at anywhere from 30-50 attendees, including Predators radio play-by-play man Tom Callahan (@predsradio on Twitter), a pretty good start considering this all came together within the last few days! Clear your calendar for tomorrow evening and join us at the Closing Bell, as we drop the puck on the greatest playoff in professional sports!

Looking forward to this
