Nashville Predators 2009-10 Regular Season schedule announced

The NHL announced its 2009-10 Regular Season schedule today, with the opening games on October 2nd and 3rd taking place once again in Europe, as the Detroit Red Wings and St. Louis Blues face off in Stockholm, Sweden, and the Chicago Blackhawks and Florida Panthers play two games in Helsinki, Finland.

The Winter Classic, on New Year's day, will feature the Boston Bruins and Philadelphia Flyers at Fenway Park.  Check back later today for the 2009-10 NHL Super Schedule, which will allow fans of various teams to have (informed) arguments about which team is going to have the toughest or easiest 82-game road.

The entire Nashville Predators schedule follows after the jump, along with selected highlights, and a look at which big Eastern Conference names we'll see skating at the Sommet Center this upcoming season...

Here, then, are some of the key dates:

  • Season Opener: Saturday, October 3rd at Dallas Stars
  • Home Opener: Thursday, October 8th vs. Colorado Avalanche
  • Home Games vs. Detroit: Monday November 23***, Saturday December 12, & Saturday March 27
  • Home Games vs. Columbus: Saturday November 21, Thursday December 10, & Saturday March 20
  • Home Games vs. Chicago: Thursday October 15, Thursday October 29, & Saturday December 26
  • Home Games vs. St. Louis: Friday November 27, Thursday April 1, & Saturday April 10
  • Season Finale: Saturday April 10 vs. St. Louis
  • Holiday Games: Halloween vs. Dallas, New Year's Eve at Columbus, Martin Luther King Jr. Day vs. Toronto

The Eastern Conference teams coming to town are as follows:

  • Buffalo Sabres on Saturday, October 10
  • Montreal Canadiens on Saturday, November 14
  • New Jersey Devils on Thursday, November 19
  • Florida Panthers on Saturday, November 28
  • Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday, December 15
  • Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday, January 7
  • Toronto Maple Leafs on Monday, January 18
  • Atlanta Thrashers on Saturday, January 30
  • Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday, March 16

***This is a 5:00 p.m. start, due to the Titans playing Monday Night Football that evening.

The Eastern Conference teams coming to town are as follows:

Don’t forget the Devils on Thu Nov 19, 2009. As a Devils fan who relocated to western Kentucky during the lockout, I know I won’t. I had to wait 3 years (exactly to the day, January 19th 2006 & 2009) for the Devils to make thier way to Nashville. This time I don’t even have to wait a full year!
