Fiddler flies to Phoenix

One of the more popular role players on the Nashville Predators, Vern Fiddler, signed yesterday with the Phoenix Coyotes for 2 years and $2.2 million. While Preds fans will miss his hustle and determination, it's nice to see Fiddler, a bit of a late bloomer at the NHL level, earn a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract.

I see ...

… that he’s staying within the “Balsillie-targeted” teams, although that club just keeps growing. Darn! That’s two hard workers (including Zanon) leaving the fold.

Any idea if we might be picking up any RFAs ourselves?

Oops ...

… make that UFAs, not RFAs.

Don’t expect anything pricey there, other than a veteran D or role player up front, it sounds like the Preds are going to promote a lot from within (which could be a very good thing). I’ll have more on that later today…

More fun than a stick to the face!
