Nashville Predators change game time to accommodate November 23 VERSUS game

The Nashville Predators announced today that the club's game on Monday, November 23 has been changed from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m CT. The game between Nashville and Detroit has been moved in order to be televised to a national audience on VERSUS, the exclusive cable home of the National Hockey League.

Individual game tickets for the 2009-10 Nashville Predators preseason will go on sale to the public this Saturday, August 22 at 10 a.m. Games include September 17 vs. the Atlanta Thrashers, September 19 vs. the Columbus Blue Jackets and September 26 vs. the Carolina Hurricanes.

This comes along with the release of the NHL's TV schedule this afternoon. The above game is the Predators' lone appearance on VERSUS or NBC this season. The game had originally been scheduled for a 5:00 local start to avoid a conflict with the Tennessee Titans' appearance on Monday Night Football that evening.

Given the fact that the Preds' #1 rival is coming to town for a VERSUS game, can the fans in the building bring forth a worthy effort? Let's show Rocky Bonanno that the Sommet Center is indeed "a hostile environment for visiting teams." Surely we can put together some "Cash For Clunkers" signs welcoming Todd Bertuzzi, right?

Not the best idea.....

for VS. I live in Indy now, and am big fans of both the Titans and the Predators. With this move, I will have to CHOOSE who to watch on a rare occassion to see both my favorite teams. Not only that, but it’s going to be tough to fill the Center with the Titans game going on at the same time. Is VS trying to make Nashville look bad???? I guess maybe the Rangers and Flyers just weren’t available to play that evening…..

The Titans game is on the road that evening, and you’ll probably only have an overlap of 30 minutes or so with the end of the Preds game and the beginning of the Titans one. It’ll be an interesting evening, to be sure.
