Hurricanes top Predators 5-2
Five different Carolina Hurricanes scored as Nashville dropped a 5-2 decision at the Sommet Center this evening (box score). Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne stopped only 19 of 23 Carolina shots, with Eric Staal's goal in the 2nd period counting as the game-winner.
For Nashville, J.P. Dumont and Patric Hornqvist each had a goal and an assist. Jordin Tootoo was in full-blown "agitator" mode with a game-high six hits. The Preds wrap up their pre-season schedule tomorrow afternoon in Columbus, with a 4 p.m. Central faceoff.

Slap Shot
I knew something was odd last night, when I saw JP wind up for slap shot in the slot.
They were all just ‘off’ last night.

Slight disappointment
I thought we’d see more jump from the youngsters on the cusp.
