With US roster announced, San Jose Sharks lead NHL with 8 Olympians

With the announcement of the US Olympic men's hockey team taking place this afternoon after the Winter Classic (and what a great game that turned out to be), the San Jose Sharks lead all NHL teams with 8 members named to rosters of different countries.

Follow after the jump for both a summary by NHL team and country of the Olympic lineup, along with a detailed list available in a Google spreadsheet, allowing you to download your own copy to slice & dice as you wish...

Star-divide

Oddly enough, NHL.com's own story has some incorrect information. Nashville is noted as having four players on Olympic squads. I count Shea Weber (Canada), Ryan Suter (USA), Patric Hornqvist (Sweden), Martin Erat (Czech Republic), Marcel Goc & Alexander Sulzer (Germany). That's six...

This table notes members of announced Olympic rosters which are currently playing for NHL teams; players like Alexander Radulov, whose NHL rights are still held by the Nashville Predators even though he plays in the KHL, are not counted here. Nor are prospects who are not yet in the NHL, but have been chosen for their national squad.

The list was compiled off of the IIHF's site, and you can access this spreadsheet via Google Docs. You can click the "Detail List" tab below to see the individual players listed by NHL and Olympic team.
