Monday Night Hockey
If you've been paying attention to attendance numbers lately, you've noticed that attendance has been great in the month of January despite BCS games, busted water pipes, repeat opponents, and (cough) "blizzards." The last home game was a Saturday sellout against the Anaheim Ducks.
The month is not even half over, yet we have only two remaining home games this month: Monday the 18th against the Toronto Maple Leafs and Saturday the 30th against the Atlanta Thrashers. The game on the 30th is likely to be another sellout, but Monday games are typically not great nights for attendance. However, with a little grassroots effort I think we can make the 18th a sellout as well.
There are several reasons why 18th will be a great night for hockey:
- Many people will have the day off of work for MLK Day.
- There is no Monday Night Football.
- There is no UT or Vandy basketball.
- Military members can get spectacular seats for just $20.
- The Toronto Maple Leafs are a RARE opponent in the Sommet Center.
- EVERY night is a great night for hockey.
So, my fellow Pred fans, get the word out. Make sure your friends know about the game. Invite people who have never experienced the Preds before. The Preds gave us an amazing performance in November, lets return the favor in January by selling out the rest of the month.

Well said
I’ll add my usual pitch for those seeking a discount, too:
For discounted tickets to this or any other Nashville Predators home game, you can follow this link and use the special offer code “PREDS”.
It’s quite possible that by the end of this month the average paid attendance will already be very close to 14,000. I hope to get specifics on this in the coming days.

Attendance
I found a great website that tracks avg attendance. It also shows that currently after 24 home games our current average is actually 14,239. click on the link you can check trends game by game for each team present and past attendance numbers.

Good stuff, but the key figure for Nashville is paid attendance, which isn’t publicly reported like that. It generally tracks 500-1500 less per game.
That’s good for showing the trend, however, particularly once football season is over.

did the link actually work? once I posted I could not access the link and could not figure out how to go back and edit the comment sorry still new lol
I had to copy and paste the whole thing, just clicking on it didn’t work. What you can do is highlight some text in a comment, and use the link button (2nd from the right just above where you type), and it’ll plug the link in for you.

One more reason
The Maple Leafs only have 39 points compared to our 57, so we should have a good shot of winning!
