Tuesday's news: Alex Burrows cries foul over key penalties in Preds win
If you see some especially groggy, but happy people around the office this morning, ask them about the wild and wooly game last night in Vancouver. With a record level of participation in the Game Thread as fans followed from Nashville, the Preds pulled out a 3-2 win, but the circumstances were unlikely to say the least.
After the jump, we get some detail on the charges that Canucks winger Alex Burrows made after the game, that referee Stephane Auger told him prior to the start that he was going to "get him" for embarrassing Auger with a flop in a game back on December 8. It's an extraordinary charge, and might there be some meat to it? Follow after the jump for that and a whole lot more...

What goes around...
Yes, Stephane Auger’s call against Alex Burrows was b**s***. So was the non-call on Burrows when he left his feet to level J.P. Dumont and put him on IR last season. So was the major penalty and game misconduct levied against Jerred Smithson prompted by Burrows’ ludicrous dive earlier this season. Now, Burrows’ intemperate post-game remarks have painted a large bulleye on his team for the remainder of the year. He should replace Dopey in the “Sleeping Beauty” lineup.
Let’s move on to Henrik Sedin’s bizarre decision to dry hump Dan Ellis in front of the assembled throng at GM Place. The resulting 4-on-3 goal for the Preds was just reward, of course, but Sedin also should have been flagged for public indecency.

Just so we're clear
Dopey is from Snow White ;).
And yes, the Sedin-on-Ellis thing was sad and disturbing. There are multiple penalties that could have come with that, public indecency, unintentional comedy, disturbing content, whatever. Henrik should have a bullseye on him on 3/7 for that behavior :D. Poor Dan…

Wow those allegations are pretty shocking
and the calls on both teams were horrible last night, right from that first Legwand penalty.
But if Burrows is telling the truth, he’s right to come out with it. Players shouldn’t have to deal with personal vendettas from refs.
You might ask Jordin Tootoo about that. Of course, he’ll answer off camera.
