Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

John Glennon is reporting from Denver that Joel Ward will miss tonight's matchup, while J.P. Dumont, as mentioned in the game day preview, will slide into his spot. Also in the article is the news that if Rinne plays well tonight, he could break the goalie rotation.

Are we ever going to have a full lineup?

And isn’t this news about Rinne possibly locking up the starting goalie job a little strange considering how bad he was against Toronto?

I'm starting to wonder

Then I remember we don’t have it nearly as bad as the Wings, Oil, or even Avs.

You have to remember a couple things regarding the goalies. Rinne is a more long term solution, has more talent than Ellis, and is more durable. Not to mention that if I wanted one goalie to steal me a game, I’d pick Rinne hands down right now.

Anticipating lines to be...

Sullivan – Arnott – Hornqvist
Smithson – Legwand – Erat
Jones – Goc – Dumont
Belak – Spaling – Tootoo

But…would actually like to see Spaling possibly get the opportunity to play LW next to Legwand and Smithson center the fourth line like this…

Sullivan – Arnott – Hornqvist
Spaling – Legwand – Erat
Jones – Goc – Dumont
Belak – Smithson – Tootoo

Legwand’s unit would be more of a two-way line, while Goc’s line would be looked upon to provide more offense…

I like that 2nd grouping better

Spaling has been a real treat, showing us at the NHL level what we saw in the development camp last summer.

More fun than a stick to the face!
