Nashville Predators to recall Mark Dekanich, Martin Erat misses practice

Stay connected for news and updates

The Nashville Predators are recalling goaltender Mark Dekanich from Milwaukee, as a precaution due to the injury suffered by Pekka Rinne Saturday night which caused him to leave the game early in the third period. Anaheim Ducks forward Troy Bodie drove the net and collided with both Rinne and Nashville defenseman Francis Bouillon, who came over to try and prevent Bodie's scoring threat.

Word from the team is that Pekka "hopes" to practice tomorrow, but given the uncertainty it makes sense to bring in Dekanich now, at least for practice purposes. The Preds play at Chicago Wednesday night, and return home to face St. Louis on Thursday.

Martin Erat also missed practice this morning with what was described as a maintenance day, as he continues to be bothered by back issues. He played Saturday night but didn't fire any shots on net in 17:14 of ice time.
