Chicago defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson suspended 2 games for Pominville hit, starting tomorrow vs. Nashville
Per TSN's Bob McKenzie, the NHL came out today with a two-game suspension for Chicago defenseman Niklas Hjalmarsson for his boarding of Buffalo's Jason Pominville last night (follow that link for the video). This will keep him out of the lineup for tomorrow night's game with the Predators, as well as Friday at Columbus. The Blackhawks are already missing offensive defenseman Brian Campbell due to injury.
Of course, the Preds will be shorthanded themselves, as they'll miss #1 goaltender Pekka Rinne and top-line winger Martin Erat. Anders Lindback will make his first NHL start in goal, and Wade Belak will suit up in Erat's place (well, not exactly, Predneck).

Suitable
The consequences of the hit deserved at least a game, and he got two. That’s probably the most they could give for recklessness, with intent, prior history and ‘headhunting’ questionable in this case.
The next time around, he’ll be a repeat offender and subject to more.
Its unfortunate for Buffalo and their fans. Pommenville was geared for a great year, playing with the likes of Roy, Ennis and Vanek in the top 6.

punishment fits the crime
and I’ll take hjalmarsson being out for our game tomorrow night. hopefully we can take advantage of that thinned out D.
Suspension
You get 2 games for a blindside hit and 2 games for making a obscene gesture. Wierd. Can someone please explain?
