OtF Play of the Week (Week 1)

Paelgaace_medium_medium_medium_medium_medium

OtF POTW is back and much better than last year! Hopefully we'll be able to do this every week without any hitches. If you weren't around last year, and wonder what the heck this is, go over to Music City Miracles (the Tennessee Titans blog) and check out my work over there. I'll be doing pretty much the same format here for my beloved Predators. I'll do this a few days after the last game of the prior week (more than likely the Saturday game). If there were multiple games that week, then there will be multiple games in the post. I hope everybody has fun with this because I really enjoy doing it (as long as the videos cooperate). After you vote, be sure to tell everybody which play you voted for and why.

Videos after the jump...

A. Goal: Marcel Goc(1)- Jordin Tootoo(1), Cody Franson(1) (4:10, 2nd) 10/9/2010

Tootoo lofted that puck perfectly between Goc and the defender, and it settled down nicely on Goc's stick. I thought for sure that Goc was going to pass it over to Dumont, but he made it just over Jonas Hiller's shoulder into the top right corner of the net. It's so unlike a Predator player (other than Hornqvist of course) to actually take a shot lilke that.

B. Save: Ryan Suter (7:09, 2nd) 10/9/2010

Ok, so Suter doesn't actually get credited for a save, but he should. Teemu Selanne was looking at an empty net, but Suter showed why he gets payed the big bucks.

C. Goal: Steve Sullivan(1)- Ryan Suter(1), Shea Weber(1) (8:33, 2nd) 10/9/2010

What?! We're allowed to score on the PP? Suter does a nice job setting up Sullivan with the fake, and Hornqvist parks himself in front of Hiller (weird, I know) to create the goal for Sully.

D. Goal: Patric Hornqvist(1)- Shea Weber(2), Steve Sullivan(1) (16:12, 2nd) 10/9/2010

This is just a classic goal by Horn Dog. It's never a bad idea to put the puck on net, and put the puck on net Shea did. Good concentration by Hornqvist to make contact with the puck while he was getting sandwiched by Hiller and the defender.

E. Goal: David Legwand(1)- J.P. Dumont(1), Joel Ward(1) (12:39, 3rd) 10/9/2010

What a play by J.P. to lift the puck over to Legwand. This goal is huge as far a getting Legwand some offensive confidence.
