From arguably their worst meltdown to arguably their best performance in the space of 48 hours, the Jekyll and Hyde Predators continue to mystify.
Against the Habs, the defense and pk were terrific. There were some lapses and turnovers in our end, but Pekka Rinne stepped up and bailed out his defense whenever it was necessary. Are we going to see this on a more consistent basis or just every now and then?
The forechecking and the play along the boards was the best thus far this year. It created scoring chances and kept the puck mostly in Montreal's end. Will this more aggressive style of play continue?
I keep saying to anyone who will listen that Marcel Goc should get as much ice time as any forward on the team. That would include major time on the pp and being one of our first three on the shootout. For my money he is the best puck handler on the team.
The pp and faceoffs continue to be a concern. The Predators have lost six one-goal games. In those games their pp was 7.1% and faceoffs were 47.7%. How much better would their record be had they been more efficient in those areas?
The Predators took that game last night. If they continue that style of play they will be in every game they play. Will they or won't they?
