Nashville Predators re-assign Mark Dekanich and Steve Begin to Milwaukee

It looks like Pekka Rinne, and perhaps one of the forwards, may be ready to return to the Nashville Predators' lineup Wednesday at Chicago:

Nashville Predators President of Hockey Operations/General Manager David Poile announced tonight that the club has reassigned forward Steve Begin and goaltender Mark Dekanich to Milwaukee (AHL).

Begin, 32 (6/14/78), made his Predators debut last night in a 3-1 victory at New Jersey, and suited up again tonight against the Los Angeles Kings. Dekanich, 24 (5/10/86), made his NHL debut tonight against the Kings, stopping 22-of-25 shots in 49:59 of action. He spent seven games backing up goaltender Anders Lindback from Dec. 4-17.

Given that he skated this morning, my guess is that David Legwand may be the one returning to duty before Patric Hornqvist.

hornqvist Injury

I did not read were he got hurt, but I think it was his wrap around goal. He got majorly dumped after that goal.

I doubt it will be Spaling

He’s too valuable on the PK. My guess is that there will be healthy scratches, with Sulzer and Belak being the obvious choices

Good riddance to Begin

all he did was take some dumb penalties.

As much as Leggy's style bores me

He’s an integral part of the team, just as Smithson is. It hurts the Preds when Legwand is out.

Haha, now that's a good one!

Since he’s been out we’ve become a much better team. We DON’T need him!

and that is why....

…I’m glad Trotz and Poile are smarter than most of the fans.

Cause he sucks as a defensive center...

…see: penalty kill stats for evidence. You don’t get it do you? What’s our record without Leggy the floater this year?

Nuff said.

by that logic...

lets trade Rinne too. we have a better win percentage with lindback.

but then once again. that is flawed logic

But Rinne doesn't suck as a goalie, which is his only job!

Legwand sucks as a defensive center, which is his job. What’s flawed?

And while we need a backup goalie, we don’t need a backup checking center.

AND, did you know that Lindback has some kind of a degenerative arthritic autoimmune disease? And that he has to get injections before every game? I had no idea and heart that this weekend…that’s really too bad, but it doesn’t appear to affect his play at all! I hope it doesn’t affect his career either…

I have been saying for a while

Let’s use Spaling in Leggy’s usually space and see about putting Leggy in a more “offensive” position and see if he breaks out. I would like to see that.

smithson

has actually been filling that role admirably. I’m with you, i would like to see Legwand given more offensive help on the wings. Maybe that Dumont and Hornqvist line.
