Nashville Predators to announce "Bridgestone Arena" at press conference tomorrow

Is this what the new marquee will look like in front of the Nashville Predators home ice? (not an actual photo, this is a mockup by Aditya T)

The good news keeps coming for the Nashville Predators today; Michael Cass at the Tennessean reports that the Preds have sent a letter to the Metro Sports Authority (PDF), advising that effective immediately upon Sports Authority approval, 501 Broadway will be renamed "Bridgestone Arena". The team is asking the Authority to call a special meeting for the express purpose of approving the name change.

This is a tremendous boost on the business front for the Predators, as their relationship with the Sommet Group soured over the last several months.

So what's it gonna be...

The Big Tire on Broadway??
The Big Steel Belted Radial on Broadway??
The Big White Wall on Broadway??

Or since it’s hockey we’re talking about…
The Big Snow Tire on Broadway??

What about the Bridgestone Arena Domain Name?

That ticket scalper still owns BridgestoneArena.com….are they going to take it or is he giving it up? http://www.coolsprings.com/news/bridgestone-arena-domain-name/

good question

If that story’s accurate, it’ll simply be a matter of transferring it to Bridgestone since he just wanted to “hold it for them”.

Nickname...

It’s hard to develope a good nickname for the Bridgestone Arean. I’m gonna call it “The 501” I think. Sounds classy.

We could call it the Tire Barn, but that’s a chain in Indy that competes with Firestone for auto service….

Perhaps they can outfit the Zamboni’s with Blizzak tires!

Sounds more like a Levis outlet.
