Ryan Suter & Shea Weber to battle for gold as Team USA, Canada advance

Sunday afternoon we'll see the Nashville Predators brightest young stars, Ryan Suter and Shea Weber, battle for the Olympic gold medal as the USA and Canada advanced to final game of the 2010 Olympic mens hockey bracket.

USA 6, Finland 1

The USA came out firing right from the start and jumped to a 6-0 lead in the 1st period, allowing them to cruise the rest of the way and get goalie Tim Thomas some action late in the game.

Canada 3, Slovakia 2

Most fans thought Canada had this one in good hands as they entered the 3rd period with the score 3-0, but a furious comeback in the final minutes had the Canadians scrambling in their own end to keep the Slovaks from tying it up. Shea Weber assisted on the 1st goal, a wrister from the point that was tipped home by Patrick Marleau.

Bronze Medal Game

Slovakia meets Finland today at 9:00 p.m. Central on MSNBC. The Finns took home the silver in 2006, while this is Slovakia's best Olympic finish yet.

Gold Medal Game

Team USA takes on Canada at 2:00 p.m. Central, live on NBC.

Join Nashville hockey fans at the Gold Medal Game Viewing Party on Sunday at 1:30 p.m., organized by Jeremy & Codey from Section303.com, and hosted at Bleachers Sports Grill in Franklin. Thom Abraham talked about how the festivities are shaping up on his radio show, and you can hear the segment via the following link:
