Predators Game Thread #67 : Nashville @ San Jose

Nashville Predators at San Jose Sharks, Mar 11, 2010 10:30 PM EST

Sharks_medium

Date: March 11, 2010 Location: San Jose, CA
Time: 9:30 PM
Arena: HP Pavillion
Local TV: FS-TN (HD) SBN Affiliate: Fear The Fin
Radio: 104.5 FM Season Series
1-2-0

Tom Callahan reports that Shea Weber is likely to suit up tonight, so put that extra pot of coffee on and join us for the West Coast Late Late Show!

And keep an eye on that out of town scoreboard; Minnesota visits Detroit in an early game, and Calgary hosts Ottawa. Looking ahead in the standings rather than behind, the Colorado Avalanche are at home against Florida.

I hate late games as well…My wife isn’t the biggest fan of watching hockey on TV. So I hope she wants to go to bed early, and I can stay up and watch some of this.

My quick research comes up with Horny’s last goal on 02/04 against Colorado. 12 games ago.

by jerseypredsfan on Mar 11, 2010 11:00 PM EST up reply actions

If you remember that was the game that Arnott had apparently scored a hat trick, and some fans threw their hats. But two of the goals were subsequently changed because Horny had tipped them in.

You've gotta love this effort!

I don’t understand how it is that the same team looks this way one night, and gets so few shots on net another night. It certainly isn’t because the Sharks aren’t a good team defensively…

Yep. That sealed it for me.

Rinne is my goalie. Sorry Dan, this game might be your undoing.

by rusherman on Mar 12, 2010 12:52 AM EST reply actions

Is this a good idea?

With 5 minutes left, you put in a goalie that hasn’t had any time to warm up…

Still...

Don’t forget that the Sharks should be at 5, and the Preds at 6…

trying to kill enough braincells to remove the memory of this game.

ok

someone with the ability definitely needs to make sure someone hears how awfully horribly lopsided the officiating of this game was. even with small things like tripping calls. just horrible officiating.

by flyalder on Mar 12, 2010 1:03 AM EST reply actions

I've never once complained about officiating in hockey

Not seriously, at least. It’s actually the one sport where I usually agree with the ref. Maybe that’s because I’m not sure of all the rules nearly as much as I am with other sports. However, I can see. Especially if you replay something over and over. I’m not sure how they got a “distinct kicking motion” out of someone being pushed down from behind, but did not get a “distinct kicking motion” from a guy who turns his skate and moves his foot forwards in the direction he desires the puck to go. It changes the composition of the game, and it fires up a home team. I don’t understand how either of those things were allowed to happen, and both of them in the same game.

by Great Paperclip on Mar 12, 2010 1:04 AM EST reply actions

One thing I’ve learned from this game…never bet on an NHL game unless you’ve got an ‘in’ with the refs. ’Cause clearly these games are rigged. When did Vince McMahon become the commissioner?

by jerseypredsfan on Mar 12, 2010 1:07 AM EST up reply actions

not only was the sharks a distinct kicking motion. it was obvious that he intended to kick it.

by flyalder on Mar 12, 2010 1:08 AM EST up reply actions

I've got a distinct

middle finger motion for those refs…hope they can see it.

does anyone know?

are these refs even held accountable for what they do. cause shit like this happens too much. especially when we face the sharks.
