Tuesday's news: Nashville reacts to new Chairman & defenseman

Yesterday was a big day for the Nashville Predators both on and off the ice, with a transition at the very top of the organization as well as on the blueline. While it will likely take weeks and months to see what the new Chairman, Tom Cigarran, will bring to the team, we get a chance to see what Denis Grebeshkov, the new defenseman, brings as he hits the ice tonight vs. his prior team, the Edmonton Oilers.

Radio Alert: The NHL Network's Brian Duff will be a guest on the Thom Abraham Show (560-AM WNSR) in the 3:00 hour this afternoon. Yesterday, Tom Cigarran went on the show to talk about the transition and how things look going forward. You can listen to his segment here:

After the jump, we've got your morning news and notes...

Given what's going on this week I think this is a good starter:

The Perils Of Writing Rumours - Hockey or Die
An excellent summary of the problems with trade rumors, as a supposed Edmonton "insider" had just about everybody getting traded by the Oilers, except Denis Grebeshkov. As an FYI, my policy is that if rumors are going to be discussed here, they are to be cited and linked; if a paper in Philly reports that a Dan Hamhuis deal is close, we'll link to it. But I'm not going to toss unsubstantiated stuff up on the wall and pretend that I have inside scoop. There are a host of fraudsters that do exactly that, unfortunately.
