Thanks to a 4-0 record that included back-to-back shutouts over Minnesota and Columbus, Nashville Predators goaltender Pekka Rinne was named today as the NHL's 1st Star of the Week for March 14-20 (per @NHLPredsInsider and NHL.com). This comes on the heels of his 3rd Star of the Week performance from March 7-13.
When you total up his last six starts, Rinne is 6-0 with three shutouts, a .959 Save Percentage and 1.15 Goals Against Average.
I guess we can feel better about his new two-year contract, eh?
