Predators scoreboard watch: Flickering Flames
While the playoffs appear to be a lock for the Nashville Predators, the question of which seed they'll earn in the Western Conference is still a very open question. With that in mind, let's keep an eye on the following games today:
Calgary @ Washington: The Flames still have a mathematical chance of making the postseason, but only the most optimistic observer would think they have a shot if they lose today against the high-flying Capitals.
Colorado @ San Jose: The Avalanche took it on the chin last night vs. Phoenix, and have slid downhill to the #8 position in the West. Can the Sharks keep them falling?

Avs lose though! So do the Blackhawks...
Pretty good set of results for the Preds. The Avs wasted one of their games in hand, and the Blackhawks blundered again against the Jackets.
Considering how poor/inconsistent Chicago has been since the Olympics (12 points taken out of 26: 5-6-2), could the Preds actually catch them? Sportsclubstats gives the odds at 0.1%; however, that was before Chicago bonked at home today. Admittedly, we’d have to have some wild results to make up the seven point gap. But let’s consider.
If the Preds win out (bringing us up to 104), the Blackhawks would need to get six points to win. Their remaining schedule is:
@ STL
@ MIN (2nd of back-to-back)
@ NJ
CGY
@ DAL
STL (2nd of back-to-back)
@ COL
DET
I like our chances. ;-)
