WTH??
Is the NHL expecting this one to be a sweep? Is that why we’re starting so late?? :-<

I don’t think so… they’ve got Game 5 slated for their national telecast!
More fun than a stick to the face!
On the Forecheck is SB Nation's blog covering the Nashville Predators.

I wouldn't look too far into this sweep theory
I highly doubt the NHL is expecting a sweep. We have to realize there are 16 teams, which means 16 venues that have events already lined up. The NHL is most likely starting a series when it can to work around arenas. For example, Bridgestone has Strikeforce fights on Saturday, Bon Jovi on Wednesday, and Hank Williams on Friday. If this series started on Wednesday or Thursday there would be a big gap in the middle of the series due to previously scheduled events at the Bridgestone. And again, the league has this issue with 15 other arenas. In the case of Chicago they also have an NBA team sharing their building.

No no, I’m from the north so my name is for the Blackhawks and Iowa Hawkeyes. However, I am a season ticket holder for the Preds. This is the last playoff matchup I wanted to see, as I really wanted to root for the Preds. But my loyalties can never leave the team I was raised on so I have to root for the Hawks.

heh
I’m a huge Cubs fan. But, I’m not going to lie-if Nashville ever got a pro baseball team I would dump that cursed club so fast…

Haha, I’m a lifelong Cubs fan too….As much as I love living here in Nashville, I could never dump my Cubbies lol

Well, hockey-wise...
I was born and raised in the Saint Paul, MN area. Everyone was a big North Stars fan growing up. Inexplicably, the moved to Dallas and became the (brown) Stars. We all felt betrayed there.
After a while, I actually became a ‘hawks fan since Minnesota no longer had a team and most my family is from Chicago. Even had a Starter jacket when those were popular. Didn’t really get that into it though; I couldn’t really watch the games. The internet was in its infancy and there were no Center Ice packages back then.
The Wild then came to town and I never really got into following them, maybe because season tickets were expensive and so was seeing a game there. Plus I was into other things. Then, in 2008 I saw where the economy was going, I was threatened twice by my boss that I would be laid off. I proactively went looking for a new job in many areas where I knew people. Minnesota, New Hampshire, Las Vegas area, Nashville.
I wasn’t even done filling out the online application when my now employer called me to set a phone interview. Got that done the next day, and two days later they called and offered me the job. I thought about what teams are here in Nashville, and saw the Predators played right near where my friend works. I watched them play the hated Red Wings in the playoffs and saw them put up an awesome effort against a star-loaded team. The Yankees of the NHL, as I think of them. (I hate the Yankees too as a life long Twins fan.) My friend and I started looking at going to games and saw they had options less than a full season and for about $20/game! After I finally got to go to the first game, the home opener against Dallas (traitors!) and see the Preds win in that crowd. I was hooked. I’m up to half-seasons now for next year, would love a full season if it wasn’t for my job and how its scheduled. But every year I’ll be there, this is my hockey team now.

I was also raised to be a Hawks fan...
…but there is no comparison between the Hawks games I went to as a kid and the atmosphere at a Preds game. Preds are my team, Cubs are still my team, and the Bears are too as long as they aren’t playing the Titans. I was a Chicagoan but now I’m a Tennessean and I’m proud of it.

This doesn't suck
Well, it does suck that when we beat them in four, we won’t get all that NBC coverage.
I’m out of town. Lifelong Preds fan living in Austin, TX. Is there any way to know if Versus down here is gonna show the Preds game or another game airing at the same time? Or are they all perfectly staggered?

According to Comcast they are supposed to be showing the games too
I went to a fight the other night and a hockey game broke out.

According to Glennon, FS-TN will broadcast the whole first round (not joined in progress!) except for Game 5 which is on NBC.

Well then...
I apologize for my expletive filled rant above. However, I believe that ProperJoe above is not going to be happy with the versus coverage that he will be seeing.
