Blackhawks might wanna stop getting so cocky
If the Chicago Blackhawks are nervous about getting their second straight Stanley Cup Playoffs started, it doesn't show.
Patrick Kane is cracking jokes about his new playoffs-inspired mullet. Andrew Ladd is "getting the itch" to win the Cup again, after winning it with Carolina in 2006. Jonathan Toews is sick of talking about goalie Antti Niemi's lack of playoff experience. And then there's Niemi, who often answers questions with just a word or two.
Check out the latest story on the series from NHL.com.
You know what this reminds me of? The Titans players' attitude in the offseason and training camp a year ago. They were all happy-go-lucky and joking around and Ustreaming, and then the season started. They lost their first six games after being so confident just a few weeks before after their best in the league 13-3 season.
Moral of this story? Don't get overconfident, it'll come back and bite you. I hope the Blackhawks don't learn this lesson.
GO PREDS!

Welcome to my world, I live in Chicago and cannot stand it anymore!!! Its been this way for weeks and has only gotten worse the past few days!!! I just want to see them fail in the first round and the so called fans can crawl back under their rocks along with the players!
And don’t forget yesterday Niemi stated he would have no issues sleeping Thursday night as he has sleeping pills!!! Find that a little funny to tell the media don’t you!
You see on the players faces that they exude cockiness!! Its disgusting!!
GO PREDS!!!

Disclaimer: I’m a Hawks fan so I’m biased here.
I don’t see this as being all that cocky. Since the beginning of the season, expectations have been high. Anything less than an appearance in the finals is a failure for the Hawks this year. We’ve endured all the mindless babble about the “Cap Apocalypse.” Add in the goalie controversy, Kane cap incident, limo incident, and poor play after the olympics and the entire organization and fan base has been dying to finally reach the playoffs.
So yes, the guys are starting to relax now that the playoffs have started. It means that they can just go out and play hockey without the distractions. The wait is over.
Nothing in what you quoted can even be seen as cocky either. Should a team be acting nervous heading into the playoffs? Is Kane not allowed to crack jokes? Is Ladd not allowed to have a desire to win another cup? Should Toews just love answering questions about playoff experience (Don’t the Preds hate that too?)? Can I come up with any more rhetorical questions?
So please, when posting try your best to remove the gold and blue tinted glasses. Besides, how do they even get glasses with both those colors in the tint?
