Game 6 Pregame notes: Nashville sells out Bridgestone Arena

Here's an extra helping of hockey links to get you through the afternoon, as we await Game Six this evening at Bridgestone Arena between the Predators and Blackhawks. The game is going to be a sellout, per John Glennon. There is also word from Tom Callahan that Patric Hornqvist will take part in the pre-game skate. While I like the enthusiasm, I won't believe we'll see a contribution from him until we see him on the ice during the game.

For your pre-game listening, check out Stu Grimson's segment this afternoon on the Thom Abraham Show:

Barry Trotz promises a new look for the power play tonight. I say, park Wade Belak in front of the net and have him drop his pants, mooning Antti Niemi. In the resulting confusion the Preds should be able to score.

why

does it take an 0-21 record before changing the power play?

It seems like 0-10 would be enough maybe….or sitting the entire season at the bottom of the league in regards to pp success.

I am excited about tonight’s game nonetheless and will be there making myself hoarse.

That's the magic question

As I’ve chronicled more than once, the Nashville power play has gone from mediocre to bad to truly awful over the last three seasons, and this is the first time I can remember hearing any talk of changing things up. Usually it’s “we’re doing the right things just have to keep getting pucks to the net,” etc.

More fun than a stick to the face!

The Sabres also have not scored on the pp yet in their series against The Bruins. Kinda hard to believe there are two teams that haven’t scored on the pp yet in this round.

I'm not sure when I've laughed so hard! The kids came hurrying upstairs to see what was going on...

It’s safe to say that we could all use a bit of comic relief right now! These tidbits have been cracking me up all year.

At section030.com,

they’ve replaced the legwand-o-meter with a power-play meter. Hey, Legwand started scoring….

Drop your pants all you want

just don’t reach into Niemi’s, that’s been tried already.
