I didn't even notice in all the flood-related tumult from last week, but this site hit the 1,000 registered members milestone last Wednesday.
To celebrate this grandiose occasion, I've got one of the "Pass It To Shea... And Get Outta The Way!" t-shirts (XL) that I'd like to give away.
GIVEAWAY RULES: To enter, just leave a comment in this article - if you haven't joined the site yet, now's a good time to jump in. You'll have until Friday, May 14 2010 at midnight Central to enter, after which I'll select a commenter at random and arrange delivery (using the email address entered when you register).
Thanks to all of you for signing up, sharing your thoughts in the comments, and contributing to the discussion with your FanPosts. Even though the Preds are out of the playoffs, we'll have plenty to talk about over the next several weeks as we review the season gone by, and look forward to the NHL Entry Draft, the free agency period which kicks off July 1, and the Development Camp which usually takes place later that month (there's nothing better than heading in to the cool of a hockey rink during the middle of summer).

And I’ve been to the GEC Sommet Center Nashville Arena Bridgestone Arena for a game before, too. (Preds beat Phoenix 4-3 in a fight-filled game in October ’06.)

This is just awesome. I get so sick of all the ‘fair weather fans’, and it is nice to be on a site where the fans are true blue actual FANS. I can’t tell you how many people I added on facebook as friends that were Preds ‘fans’ and then deleted again because I got tired of the negative attitude whenever the guys had a rough day. Good Lord. As IF they could do it better. A fan is a FAN.. good or bad.. thick or thin.. win or lose. Period. Here.. I think I have finally found that and a place that I fit in. I’m home. :)

This season wouldn’t have been nearly as much fun without you!! Pred’s hockey is a true addiction and now so is OtF!!!! Volnation took over my home page from CoachT and now we’re rockin the OtF home page! Takes some good stuff to replace those websites. Looking forward to a great Pred-filled summer!! :)

Less Than 5 months to go!
Watching the playoffs on VS. ( surprisingly good coverage) and can’t wait for the Season to start again. Just thinking what if……..We coulda been there, easily. Great site Dirk, Congratulations!

Being in college has been fun, but there isn’t a lot of Preds coverage in Ohio. When i need my daily dose of Preds news, I always turn to OnTheForecheck.

When it was announced that my great city was getting an NHL team I thought, OK! Lets see how this plays out. May 2010 and I check out OTF everyday for whats new with my Preds and anything else hockey related. Best site on SB for sure. Long live the PREDS!

Daily Dose
I check in here everyday to find info that may not be available through “normal” outlets. Knowing info will be available, almost on a more than daily basis (sad when nothing is new day to day), keeps my pred addiction satisfied. I still have a lingering question – any NEW information forthcoming on the “Boots” debacle of ownership shares?? I believe that the organization need a little infusion of the money being held up in the courts. You said last summer that it means little that the money is tied up, but some new money appears to be needed to promote this team.

Great job on the blog. I realize I’m not that active, but life situations keep me pretty busy. Ever since I signed up, I actually feel informed on what’s going on with the Preds. Being a fan of a “non-traditional” hockey market can make news hard enough to come by. Then moving into an area with no (professional) hockey makes that information nill. This site is now the defacto source to get highlights and quick news bits. Now let’s get ready to celebrate the next 1000!

More contests like this, and I’m sure On The Forecheck will soon hit 2,000 member mark! :-) I’ve been visiting this site for a very long time (although without registration) and noticed that all the talks from the old boards on nashvillepredators.com are now moving here (a number of comments in the playoff game threads was huge). I’d like to thank you guys for running this site and updating it very, very often.
By the way, if I were selected, I’d like this t-shirt to be given to someone else, since shipping it to Poland would cost fortune. I just wanted to say hi and thank for your work.
