Monday's news: These kids are alright

Now that the Nashville Predators Development Camp has concluded, we're staring at two long months without hockey, folks. But don't worry, we'll keep you engaged with news, analysis, and lots of puck-talk all summer long.

This morning after the jump, we have a look at the Preds' NCAA prospects, a recap of last week's Skate of the Union, one blogger who found video of Dan Hamhuis sending a dig at Nashville all the way from Vancouver, and an invitation to show our latest draft pick what Southern Hospitality is all about...

Red Light District: Could Ellis be the next Anderson?
Ryan wonders if Dan Ellis can find his niche as a #1 starter with Tampa Bay just as Craig Anderson did in Colorado last year. In my opinion, this ain't gonna happen. Ellis is fine as a part-time starter, but I don't see him carrying a team over the length of a season.

Should not be taking shots at his former ( THANK YOU Poile) team/fans when he STUNK as bad as he did.

Hamhuis

He’s getting smaller and smaller in the rear view mirror.

I'm not that upset about Hammer...

The canuckleheads foolishly paid almost double what he’s worth in my eyes. He was simply solid in one area of defense, and not much else. How come the 2-8 pairing sucked and the 8-51 pairing did alright? I thought Klein might be the weak link, but in retrospect it might have been hams and his lack of communication.

Well, we’ll see he him being put in his place all this season I think.

sweet little hammerLESS

Anyone paired with 2 SUCKED! 8/51 was better b/c they communicated, were more physical, smarter passes etc. hammerLESS was the WEAKEST PHYSICALLY and was the WEAK link in our D. Slow, loafed, turnovers in our zone,NOT physical other than a rare hip check, COULDNT clear out in front of our net. What exactly was hammerLESS good at that some here believe made him such a great dman? I sure as heck never saw anything, as he spent most of his time getting HAMMERED and put in his usual place, laying on the ice!!! LOL LOL!!!!!
