Around SBN: Trent Richardson Interviews Fellow Brown Brandon Weeden

Hamhuis slipped in a jab at Nashville, noting that the attendance at the Summer Summit was awfully similar to the attendance at a Predators home game in November.

A Vancouver blogger reviews the Canucks' "Summer Summit" from last night. Geez, Dan, don't let the door hit you on the way out! (hat tip to Puck Daddy)

Yeah

It’s hard to get people to show up to watch Hamhuis turn over the puck 8 times a game.

I cannot wait...

For how hard he is going to fail. I can’t believe I’m this giddy over it.

Can someone please explain to me why our 5th best defenseman is all of a sudden considered the second coming of Bobby Orr?

What happened?

Dan Hamhuis was a class act in Nashville. (Who can forget him at Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital in his Pooh suit?) Then David Poile made his family’s life a great deal easier at the trade deadline. Now he’s taking shots at the team that drafted him and patiently waited him for him to develop NHL-level skills. I’m tempted to think that he’s been listening to the low-rent fans Vancouver attracts. But that would be a cheap shot, wouldn’t it?

Maybe uncalled for...

But c’mon, the guy and his wife were unbelievable in this community and by all accounts very good people. No sense debatingwhat a Canadian blogger ‘reported’ (who have been known to take potshots at Nashville whenever possible).

i'll give Hammer the benefit of the doubt

and assume that maybe the blogger made the jab/joke first and then Dan chuckled in conceding fashion… still stings though.
Oh well — first time he’ll be back for a game next season isn’t until a Saturday in February, and that won’t be a shitty crowd reminding him of where he came from.

Thank God

the nucks are my most hated team…. by far. i wondered about how i would feel w/ hammer there. dont have to worry about that anymore.

It was just a joke...

I mean, we expect that kind of thing from our new guys too. Gotta drop the old and show you’re in with the new team! I think he’ll play very well in Vancouver, but no doubt he’s no Bobby Orr.

NHL 10 for XBox 360 is like paying $60 for bipolar disorder...
Go Predators!!!

Cant wait for hammerLESS to come to town. Glad he is gone. He should be good for a goal or two for the Preds when he comes to town. Definetly NOT a top dman in the NHL and arguably the WEAKEST dman we had and was one of the worst in the NHL on the pk Still cant understand why some call him hammer. LOL! He was always the one getting HAMMERED and rarely hit anyone.

hammerLESS

Hope to see Toots, or any other Pred for that matter CRUSH little hammerLESS. Hope section 303 seranades sweet little hammy with a rousing hamhuis is a SISSY and hanhuis you suck! If I was as HORRIBLE on the ice as hammerLESS was the past 2 years(especially in this years playoffs) I would keep my mouth shut about my former team/community. Canuck fans will figure out real quick that he is NOT an elite dman, probably on his 1st shift, when as usual, he gets knocked on his butt or gets tossed offf the puck like a rag doll or makes one of his many giveaways in their own zone. Hes going to wish he was anon. when he stinks like he did for the Preds. ( esp. on pk and when paired with Kleine)

Booooo

I had hoped Hammer wouldn’t become a Baby Burrows whiner clone as time went on, but looks like he fit right in right away with the Vancheaters, one of the most dirty teams in the league. Remember Hammer, what goes around……
I thought you had more class.
