Alexander Radulov does an interview on the streets of Italy back in June. Jump to the 6:19 mark to hear him talk about Jordin Tootoo and a potential return to Nashville. This was featured in Puck Daddy's afternoon headlines.

Really, the only thing I could make out

was Vestrucci’s question about Zhordeen tooToo. Hope there’s somebody with better ears to provide the gist of what Radulov said.

I picked up some of it...

There was something about a funny story that he could share about Tootoo, but not while the cameras were rolling. The interviewer said that 51% of fans here said in a poll on a blog tha tthey would take him back. He said that it wasn’t a door that he wanted to shut, but that it’s a difficult situation because he still has a year on his contract there (uh, kinda like he had on his contract HERE when he bailed. Yeah.)

He also said something about a great league to play for, but I wasn’t clear whether he was talking about the KHL or the NHL.

Hi, I’m Antonio, the Italian guy who made the interview.
First of all, sorry for my bad english and for the bad ears. I have the mp3 file of the interview too, and it is has a better ears. However LuvthePreds translation is pretty good.
The “poll on a blog” we are speaking about is a poll posted on this blog last may:

What I can make out and the end of what is above “I don’t want to close the door on going back to the NHL. It a good league, probably the one of the best leagues. I want to go back…if they’ll still have me.”

I understood most of it

I really really want to see Radulov back in a Preds uniform soon. “If they take me back” is something he said, which is a real if, around her because of a the negative chatter amongst Preds fans. I understand you are upset (believe me I am too) but if he comes back you don’t boo the home team, even if he did flake out of a contract. I think if he comes back to fulfill (albeit late) his last year of the contract we should be happy and move on. The guy brings us something we haven’t gotten much of in the last couple of years: Scoring and power play efficiency.

I think we should sign Hornqvist to a 2 year deal and see how he plays with Alex in his final year. If the experiment works re-sign em both! David Legwand might be on the trading block soon to free up some money. Don’t know the validity of course but I hear it could be with done with Buffalo. We would be looking at a low money player and possibly a pick. So if we do do that we might have to sign another center because I have a feeling that we are not going to get another one in return.

I Really Really

DONT want to ever see him in preds colors again and i dont care what he can offer as a player. and yes i will boo him( and i have never booed a pred or the team) more than a bad ref, chris chelios and mike primodano added together if he returns to the ice here. it would be as anti-predator way to allow him back as any thing i could imagine and possibly ruin the chemistry of the team, which is apparently important. ( see belak signing). having said that, if the team makes that move, i get my chance to voice my opinion when he hits the ice, then i hope he does well and want him to succeed as a player and will cheer when he does well. i wont, however, trust him. i suspect he will be a problem somewhere down the line and would be against re-signing him.

You're hearing about a trade this year for Leggy?

I find it hard to believe…but who knows.

Bring Rads back!! You don’t turn away a guy with hands like his for any reason if you got thye brains God gave a goose. This ain’t a popularity contest. You take talent like his and run with it! The fan base needs to get over their hurt feelings that Rads asked somebody else to the Prom. New day, new faces and a new team….in his case I’ll take sloppy-seconds any day of the week.

Consider the source

It comes from Eklund, who also has a tidbit about Kariya coming back to the Predators. He hasn’t been right since the nailed the Foppa swap three years ago.

by Hockey Hillbilly on Aug 21, 2010 1:47 PM EDT up reply actions

What do principles have to do with winning hockey games? If Rads comes back and causes problems chemistry wise…fine, boot him out. If it’s just because we have fans that are butt-hurt that he wanted someone to show him the money sooner rather than later…that’s not a good enough reason to turn away that kind of talent IMO. God knows talented wingers don’t grow on trees…especially in Nashville.

Apparently...

you’ve never made mistakes in your life…oh, you just did!

I want Rads back, we all make decisions and have to live with them. Some are mistakes. Rads thought it was a good opportunity to play in his home country. He realizes he’s going to have to earn his way back and make it up, and at his lower level of pay.

But regardless of what we, the fans, think: It’s up to the locker room to forgive him and work with him.

i agree

w/ the players having the say. the only voice weve heard on the subject was arnott. he sounded like he sided more w/ me than you two,but hes gone. it matters what the players and management think, but it would be surprising to me if trotz was for it. 1st- he had issues w/ rads work ethic and commitment to defense before he left. 2nd- his stunt is as about as anti-predator way as it gets. we over achieve and get to the playoffs on a nearly yearly basis. chemistry has ALOT to do w/ that success. if its not REALLY important why do we talk about it so much and explain the rationale behind signing belak. chemistry, young well developed dmen and the ability to develop/sign cheap, but quality goaltending is why weve been where weve been when everyone says we shouldnt be there. i say we say all the right things and then trade his rights. if he is as valuable as you say (and i know he has talent) we will get something decent in return. thats a better scenerio in my mind. lastly to titanpredbearfan- principles have ALOT to do w/ everthing in life including hockey games. i certainly understand the arguement to keep him, but what do you think causes good chemistry? its the knowledge you ALL have each others back, you can count on the other guy. go watch miracle and then tell me i have no brains or am “butt-hurt”. you may still want rads, and thats fine, but there is another side to the arguement. some things just arent ok to do to your teamate/friends/spouse, etc. this was one IMO.

Here's my take

I’ll be happy to have him back IF these three Radu-less years turn out to be a good investment. In other words, if he comes back three seasons improved from 07-08, then we’ve got a superstar winger at… what was it… $800K? If that happens and a few fans are still booing, then we’ll just have to start chanting, “Raduuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuulov” so nobody can tell who’s booing and who’s not.

"Get to the Choppa!"

Predhead are you kidding....

Predhead you got to be kidding right. Rads left the team and the fans hanging high and dry. He bolts back to “mother Russia” and give us here the big F U! YOU want to welcome him back like Odyessus fresh from his ten year sojourn back to Ithaca. Rads needs to hear 17,117 Oops I’ll correct it…. 17116( leaving you and your glass of Predator Kool-aid out) booing him mercilessly for his hockey sojourn to Russia and back.

We know GMDP is pursuing Radulov

We know Poile met with Rads and/or his reps at the Worlds in Switzerland and at the Olympics in Vancouver. He’s mentioned lots of transcontinental telephonage as well. Remember that the Predators invested time and money in developing Radulov for the North American game and were on the verge of a payoff when he bolted. If nothing else there’s the matter of ROI. Could Rads play here again? That’s a question Coach Trotz and Captain Weber will have a large part in answering, regardless of what we all think.

From Middle Tennessee......

From Middle Tennessee with NO LOVE!!!! I do not care what Rads does until he decides to come back to the states and play for the Preds. He has became the Preds own Brett Favre. Will he come back and when every year since he has left. Did David P take a quick hop to Denmark to meet with him and his peeps about coming back. This just in Shea, TooToo and J P Dumont are making a special trip to Rads compound in Siberia( where he is shooting pucks with the high school team) to convince him to comback. #47 can stay over there and drink Vodka and play in the Minors of hockey.
