Mt. Puckmore - the four iconic faces of the Nashville Predators
Many thanks to Sean Leahy at Yahoo's Puck Daddy for asking me to contribute to their Mt. Puckmore series. For a team which has only been around for 11 seasons, this wasn't an easy decision.

Decent
the only GM and Coach the Preds have ever had are tough to argue,
but on a team that is consistently mediocre to middling to first round disappointing,
is there any body who is a better face than David Legwand? He is the epitomy of what we’ve been so far. To be on Team Predmore, there has to be some aspect of years of service, no? Weber has had only four full (and three healthy) seasons with us.
Weber is hopefully what we will be in the future. However, to date Weber has done more for Team Canada than he has for Team Predator, and
its hard to leave Legwand (or Sully, the best trade deadline acquisition we have had, and his Trophy for dedication to boot) off the PREDATORS
list.

good picks
you could make many other cases, but in the end they are the correct 4, but did you have to bring back the commercials. they are awful.
Well, OK, but...
the names Steve Sullivan and Kimmo Timonen should have occurred to any Photoshopper portraying the history of our team. By the way, bag a few of Puck Daddy’s commentators and toss ’em into the Cumberland.

Pretty good list....
…but I’d replace Vokoun with Legwand.
Here’s my post in the thread/poll on HF Boards regarding the Mt. Puckmore entries:

Interesting poll
The final results on HF Predsmores was as follows:
1. Barry Trotz – 40 votes
2. Shea Weber – 39 votes
3. David Legwand – 37 votes
4. David Poile – 30 votes
5. Tomas Vokoun – 16 votes
6. Steve Sullivan – 13 votes
7. Ryan Suter – 11 votes
T-8. Cliff Ronning – 5 votes
T-8. Pete Weber/Terry Crisp – 5 votes
10. Jordin Tootoo – 4 votes
11. Paul Kariya – 3 votes
12. Martin Erat – 2 votes
T-13. Scott Walker – 1 vote
T-13. OTHER – David Freeman – 1 vote
T-13. OTHER – Gnash – 1 vote
Very interesting Timonen got no love. Nor Tootoo; he (despite his lack of progression on the ice) has been our ‘face’ to alot of our fans and (in a negative way) for opposing fans.
What are puck daddy commentators going to say? Can’t be worse than what they said for the Blue Jackets or the Wild or the Thrashers, all of whom have done less than us.

the wild
may have missed the playoffs more, but they did get to a wcf.

Legwand?
I really don’t understand wanting him on the list. While he scored the first ever OT game winner I can’t think of anything else he’s done of note in a Preds uniform. Yes, he’s a great defensive forward. So is Smithson. All Legwand has managed to do for this team is exist on it.
Vokoun is someone people still think about, talk about and revere. Once Legwand’s gone most people won’t waste their breath bringing his name up again.
Weber is already the highest profile player the Preds have ever had in just four short years, and he’s now our captain. He’s probably the most talked about Predator ever outside of Nashville.
Legwand? Seriously? Tootoo is more a face of this franchise than he is.
My favorite
Is the person saying Dirk doesn’t know anything about Preds “history” because he picked Vokoun over Legwand.
Seriously. How could Vokoun NOT be on this list?
