Pierre LeBrun pops the "Preds have no star players" bubble. Any coach in the league would love to have Ryan Suter & Shea Weber patrolling the blueline.

The terrifying bit in there (as noted by Buddy Oakes) is a throwaway line about Steve Sullivan being out until the All-Star break... that's another couple of weeks.

Injury updates

Are there any reliable injury updates out there? Seems that injured players vanish into the federal witness protection program (aka Lombardi) or whose status remain unclear as in the case of Sully.

The NHL’s policy is basically that teams don’t have to say anything if they don’t want to, and the Preds generally don’t want to.

Actually, its not a newsflash – Mullen reported it this morning, you just had to read into it. Trotz said they hoped Sully would start skating “next week”, and that it would be 7-10 days after that. Next week begins the 17th, and 10 days is the 27th – coincidentally, the day the all star break begins.
